thyme sighed as she flipped through the pages of her book, the usual mortal kind brought back to her by her request. ty had always found these books to be quite interesting, especially the mortal fiction that they wrote about her and her family. she had read the mortal bible plenty of times, enough to know it by heart. and while almost all of it was entirely true, it was still basically a work of fiction in her eyes. thyme was the daughter of the pale rider, the rider of death, and in a few years time, she would take up that title and rule the underworld, along with her 'sisters', the other riders. ty was the first girl born in centuries, as were the other three, and it made them special, unique even. ty continued on with her reading, her storm blue eyes scanning the words as if they were food. she always read like that, even if she had read the book before. ty loved knowledge, it just seemed to attract her. she did not know why, but it made a little sense to the rest of the whole underworld.
looking up, she scanned the place around her. filled with demons and other creatures that tended to relax here while during the off-hours of school. they tended to stay away from her though. she was considered nobility, and through that, and the fact that she was anti-social, everyone thought her to be snobbish and stand-offish. something that she didn't want people to think of her, but it really didn't matter. she wasn't really big on the whole social scene anyways. they only reason that people tended to know about her, or know of her, and placed her in the popular crowd was only because of her family, and that she hung out with the other riders. otherwise, ty would probably be in the library the entire time. it was the place that she was most often found when not in class; except now, that she was here, because it was basically break time, even if school hours were done for the day. she glanced around, with everyone who was out here tending to shift away. you did not want ty's eyes upon you. that means you had done something wrong.
the house of pale were the leaders of the law and the passers of judgment. ty's eyes held these features, and it wasn't a good thing if she looked at you for too, too long. instead, she went back to her book, and the tension seemed to dissolve instantly with that. she knew that everyone else must've been thinking that they were lucky the grim boys weren't here, or else something may have happened then -- it usually did. they usually were the ones that did ty's bidding, considering the grim family worked for the pale family. ty breathed out another sigh, two in a few minutes meant she was possibly getting bored, which rarely happened. taking a sip from the coffee mug right by her pile of books, she seemed to relax a bit more and more. coffee was a relaxant for ty, especially now that she was a junior. her mind was on many a thing nowadays, and with that came stress. stress wasn't usually felt by her kind, but in her it was.
alright ty, back to reading... she thought to herself, going back to her book. it was a wonderful one as well. different from the school books piled on the table in front of her. no, this was one of magic and far-off lands. a fantasy tale if you will. she seemed so engrossed by it, and it's silly usage of magic (honestly, the humans were so funny and hilarious when it came to that...) that the young blond didn't even notice anyone else coming up to her.

Cecelia was by no means the most girliest girl on the campus of the school, probably no where the most pretty either. But, that didn't stop her from anything. She grabbed her gym bag and headed toward Styx to walk around and maybe meet up with some friends after awhile. She had just gotten done working out and wasn't afraid to walk around in shorts and a sweatshirt. Her hair was pulled back in a loose ponytail, with nothing but her bangs still hanging down. Her gray shorts went above her knees by a little bit and had the Nike sign on them. Her sweatshirt was just a plain black, underarmor sweat shirt and the bag was bright blue. She wore black high tops to counter off the whole ensemble. She saw people stare at her, but she didn't mind at all. She just enjoyed the attention and smiled everytime she caught somebody staring. She continued on with her way to the river.
Once there, she saw an abundance of people and they all seemed to be starring at one individual; and it wasn't her this time. It was at a blond girl. She had to think about who she might be. She had to stop in her tracks and close her eyes. When someone bumped into her, she immedietly opened them and shouted "watch it" to the person that had passed by. When she looked back to the girl, she had looked up and everyone around was looking kind of scared that something might happen. Wait. Oh. Now she knew who the girl was. Thyme? Or something along the lines of that. She was apart of the famous "Pale" family. They ran the legal things in the underworld. When she looked back down at her book, the people around started to move with ease or so once again.
Cecelia stood there and tilted her head to the side. She was so quiet and she never really saw her ever talk to anyone. Probably because they all thought that she would arrest them or something with those Grim boys at her will. She rolled her eyes, sighed, knew she was going to regret it, and walked over to her. People starred at her as she walked by, probably thinking she was mad or something. Once she got over there, she stood there waiting for her to realize she was standing there. After a while of her not noticing Cece, Cecelia had finally said something to her, "Hey. It's Thyme right?" she sat down next to her, "You seem lonely. Whatcha readin?" Cece knew that it was foolish to talk to someone of the Pale family since they got people in trouble no matter what. If the Grim brothers showed up, she wouldn't care too much. Honestly, they didn't frighten her at all.
Cece removed her gym bad and had gotten a book out of it that she had been reading. It was one of her favorites she had read as a child back in the human world. "I'm rereading the Eragon seriers if you ever want to borrow them. It's a really good series. Well, to me at least." She didn't know what Thyme was like, but if she was reading because she wanted to, the two girls could prbably get along pretty well. Then again, she could be reading just out of the reason for a book for school. She would find out though.

ty looked up to see a girl with reddish hair, which reminded her of ivory a bit. she looked a little timid, considering she wasn't entirely social, and set the book down, marking it's place with her usual silver bookmark. she shifted slightly, blinking as she glanced away in slight nervousness. "yeah, but uh... you can just call me ty... everyone does..." she said, her voice slightly hushed in her usual manner. well, only the other three called her 'ty', but it was a name that everyone was slowly getting used to. only her father, or her banshee called her thyme, and that was only when she was in meetings or other serious business that required formal matters. however, to the rest of the formal underworld, she preferred 'ty' above all else. she really didn't like her full name all that much, but it was what her mother wanted her to be called before she died in labour. she was only lucky that a respectable nickname came along with it. it had caught on quickly, though some were still hesitant to use it because of her position in the underworld.
she suddenly looked to her book, running her fingers over the cover of it lightly, as though it would give her the confidence to speak to this new girl. talking about the book made it a little bit easier to interact though. if you could talk to ty about books, then she would open up like one. "oh... just some mortal book that someone picked up for me..." she explained. she didn't even notice the title of it when she started reading. she had just been so pleased that someone had gotten her a book from the mortal realm. "um... harry potter. it's actually quite interesting on how these humans can think up ideas about witchcraft." ty found many interesting things about the mortal realm, only because mortals just seemed so interesting to her, and the others as well. she always tried to slip through a gate whenever she could, just to go and look around in the bookshops that lined the streets of their cities. it was so wonderful to her. considering that she had almost every book in the underworld, the shops here weren't really that necessary to her
ty's storm eyes watched the girl pull her own book out of the gym bag, and she looked curious at it. a dragon on the cover? interesting, she might have to give it a read. "maybe i shall, one day. i have many books to read; and no need to worry about it, i'll just have someone get it for me... i'm notorious about losing others' things," she said, blinking as she continued to look the book over. ty's room was a regular mess and she was constantly losing things in it. not to mention it was the size of a library, which was basically what it was in the first place. shelves upon shelves lined the walls of her room, and thousands of books were held upon those shelves. she then looked from the book to the girl. her eyes blinked once, and she tilted her head, letting the blond hair fall to the side. "no offense, but people will think your crazy for talking to me..." she said. it was true, people would wonder why she had begun to talk to ty, and probably thought she was insane for doing so; the girl was only lucky that ty had slipped away from her banshee, or else there would've been confrontation by now. banshees' were so over-protective.

The girl seemed shocked that she would come over and talk to her. Well, why wouldn't she? Thyme was just a normal, well, loosely defined of course, person/demon/etc. She said that everyone usually just called her Ty though. Cece nodded, "Nice to meet you. I'm Cecelia, or Cece for short." Normally, Cece would not approach someone first, however this girl seemed like she needed company and Cece was here to help. She looked back down at her book and ran her fingers across it. She said that some mortal had picked it up for her. She paused for a moment and then said that it was Harry Potter. Ty went on to explaining that it was interesting how humans can think of ideas for witchcraft. The red-head gained a grin on her face, "That's what I am. Well, half-blood." She waited to see if she would respond or just get up and walk away. The demons down here really didn't give second thought to the half-bloods that came to school here, which made it hard for her to find friends. She didn't mind though because people just got on her nerves most of the time anyways. Human or not. The ignorance of some things; it just got under her skin.
She said that she would just have someone get it for her because she often lost things. Cecelia knew that feeling pretty well. "Me too. But it's okay, I would still let you borrow it," she started to whisper, "I keep a tracker spell on all the things I think are important." She didn't know why she whispered it, but it sounded dramatic. Since the girl was able to loose things faster than the speed of light, she kept tracker spells on her items that were most important to her so she couldn't loose them. She began to talk about how people thought she was crazy for talking to her. "Why's that? You looked lonely, so I felt like it would be nice to come over and talk." The question was kind of meaning to be rhetorical and sarcastic at the same time. She knew people thought she was out of her mind when talking to Thyme Pale. That's when the red-head looked around to make sure that she wasn't about to get comfronted by anyone. She did not feel like fighting today. Besides, she had just worked out and her heart rate was still up and running, so she would take anyone on right now.

her face relaxed from her shocked look. really, she knew she couldn't be surprised when people came up to talk to her. they were going to be doing that all the time, but considering her rank, she figured that people would be afraid or nervous. ty nodded her head, her pale blond hair sparkling in the sun. "it's a pleasure to meet you as well," she said, not meaning to be totally formal about it. however, that's how she was raised, so it couldn't be helped. when cecelia said that she was a half-blood, ty blinked. she was the first half-blood that ty would actually talk to, rather than tutoring or directing around the school. if she was with the other three, or her banshee, or even damien, than she wasn't allowed to talk to them. however, ty really didn't care about the whole half-blood issue. they were people like everyone else. "interesting," she said simply. seriously, she wasn't about to stop talking to someone because they were half-human. that was probably the stupidest reason ever. ty based people on their actions, and she could tell that this girl was alright. she didn't mean it in a bad way, but she had never really conversed with or actually met a half-blood before, so it was just interesting that she was at this current moment in her life. she looked at the book once more, before looking back up a cece. "no need to worry about prejudices with me... i'm not big on that sort of thing," she explained. her father had raised her like that. there were was nothing but the innocent and guilty. it was either one or the other, and it didn't matter what and who you were.
ty smiled lightly. ah another displacer was in her midst. good to know. at least she could say that she wasn't the only one now. despite her cleverness and intelligence, ty wasn't big on the organization scene. she had tried too many times before, but it never worked out for her. small things were okay, like her coursework or planner, but majorly huge things, like her dorm room, and her room back at home were just too big for her to handle. it did get annoying, but she lived with it. she smiled fully when cece started to whisper. why was she whispering? really, no one was going to eavesdrop on their conversation. "thank you," she said, with another nod of her head. "that sounds nifty, but my un-organization skills actually help keep me organized..." she didn't get it either, but there was some soundness to her chaotic life. she glanced around, and blinked, hoping that her protector, or those that thought the girl should've been put in her place would not come over. "most of them usually leave me alone, when i'm alone... i sometimes prefer it that way..." she explained. "however, i am glad you did come over..." she added, smiling fully now. her father had told her that she needed to get some more friends, besides the other three riders, but with ty's shyness, it rarely happened.
